In pursuit of purpose:Keys to living in God's will
Many people are frustrated in life because they are living outside of God's will for their lives. How did you choose where you are currently living? Was it because of family, or did you like the geography, or was it because of a job opportunity, maybe because of economic hardships? Though such decisions can be rewarding, most people who make decisions or live outside of God's purpose for their lives are frustrated. I once talked with a man in retirement regretting all the years he had wasted working and being unfulfilled in his work. I even talked to a woman who, after 30 years in marriage, was regretting ever being married.
It's not just about being employed or being married; it's about seeking God's promise for you. David said, "Before I was afflicted, I went astray." Most of the difficulties arise because you are outside of God's will for your life. The Bible says in Matthew 6, "Seek ye first the kingdom." Before looking for a job, seek God and discover which area or place you are supposed to live in. Many never ask God what His desire is for them concerning work or marriage . The Lord promised that if we seek His kingdom first, He will take care of everything else.
I have read stories of people who, though they experienced many blessings from God, were miserable because they knew something was missing. The job may provide for you to a point where you can even have more than enough, but you will be distressed because you feel there is more to your life than what you see and are manifesting.
There is nothing like the peace and joy we can have when we know we are in the will of God for our lives. Romans 12:2 declares, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” The word "prove" means to demonstrate, meaning a person functioning in God's will manifests so much beauty, peace, and even joy that others learn and are blessed because of him. God will create in you the capacity to be a blessing to others, and the life you begin to live will impact others, whereas the life outside of God's will is not even fulfilling to you.
Nothing else can give us peace and joy like being in God’s will. No job is worth compromising that peace and joy. Our families and loved ones will benefit far more if we are in God’s will .
Many have never experienced that joy and peace because there is a cost and price paid to walk in God's will and path for your life. Are you willing to seek God's will, especially for the coming year? The main reason many Christians do not seek His kingdom and will first is that they fear they will not like where He leads them. We may not like it at first, but our lives will be much better, and we will have peace and joy in His kingdom instead of the anxieties and miseries of this world.
In conclusion, true fulfillment lies in aligning our lives with God's will. Many face frustration and regret when they deviate from His purpose. Seeking God's leading in work, marriage, and life choices brings unparalleled peace and joy. The cost of following His path is small, and the rewards that come with being in His will are greater. Embrace God's will for a fulfilling life.
