The Kings table

King Nebuchadnezzar asked for an impossible thing from his ministers (Wiseman soothsayers and magicians). His reason was because he knew if he had explained the dream to them, through craftiness they would lie to him. He asked that they should first tell him the dream then he would know for sure that they could interpret the dream for him. They cried out “No king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things” This was in a way a strategy of the wise men to convince the king that he was being unreasonable, not that they were incompetent. But they had no capacity to interpret the dream and this in a way showed they had lied before to the king and gave him a false interpretation of his dreams.

Kings or people of influence are surrounded by such people who are not truthful and a small percent of them start off with genuine intentions. So, kings don’t allow people into their company unless they have proven themselves.  They also know the limitations of those around them and know how to expose these shortcomings.

Daniel was not among this close coccus of the king but God was about to make room for him. Just through a single act of competence Daniel would be brought into the king’s court. But in that court, he would be sustained by his faithfulness to God because his access was through godly principles. Many, like the wiseman are sustained in those positions by craftiness but the king is not a foul he always picks up when those around him are not being truthful.

When Daniel heard about the King’s request, he went to King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel requested the king to give him some more time. Then he would tell the king what the dream meant. So, Daniel went to his house. He explained the whole story to his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Daniel asked his friends to pray to the God of heaven that God would be kind to them and help them understand this secret. Daniel’s secret was his dependance on the God of Israel and he maintained that attitude as he saved the four kings.

Many are corrupted by positions and lose the keys that allowed them to enter into those places of influence Daniel refused to be corrupted by being in the presence of the king. In this season doors shall open to enter into the presence of kings but don’t allow yourself to fall. Keep standing by the principles of God. Daniel did not allow himself to be corrupted by the food on the king's table. Remember in the presence of the king don’t be overtaken by lust for his food of influence.

God Bless you
